Lauding Land of Enchantment
At Albuquerque Self-Storage we are proud to be providers of self-storage to the Land of Enchantment. New Mexico is a welcoming state full of color, art, music, and dance. The art is inspired by the broad aesthetic landscapes of New Mexico. No doubt the path finders of our great country considered New Mexico a place of spiritual enlightenment and growth. And the indigenous people of New Mexico would journey far and wide around the expansive mountains in search of a spiritual awakening. Providing Self-Storage to an enchanted land is obviously a pleasure.
The State Name
The name New Mexico is an anglicized version of “Nuevo Mexico” a Spanish name for the uppermost Rio Grande. Mexico of course comes from an Aztec word that means “place of Mexitli” the name of an Aztec god. One can feel the rich history here and sense that New Mexico has been traversed for thousands of years, before history was recorded, or indoor plumbing made a wake.
The New Mexico State Quarter
New Mexico released the 47th coin in the United States Mint State Quarters Program. The great influence of the indigenous Native American culture is present on the quarter. Sporting the Aztec cross this state quarter shines brightly and recognizes that colonialism does not necessitate the complete dissolution of a culture.
