The Oddest Storage Discoveries

As long as it isn’t dangerous, what an individual keep in their storage unit is up to them. At Albuquerque Self Store we have the utmost respect for an individual’s privacy. However, sometimes payment on a storage unit defaults and it is time to crack that lock open and clear the unit out for the next renter. Sometimes the oddest things are then discovered. Following is a list of some of the strangest things that have been found in storage units around the United States:
Grandma’s Body
Luckily for us, we didn’t stumble upon this grisly discovery here at Albuquerque Self Storage. This strange storage unit was rented in the sunny state of Florida. A family had been keeping their grandma’s body in a blue casket inside their storage unit. I guess they weren’t big on burials? Even more shocking was that the body had been there for 17 years! I am guess when they finally discovered grandma’s body she wasn’t looking her absolute best.
Space Equipment
This high-tech discovery was once again made in Florida, this time near the famous Cape Canaveral. The storage unit had been used to keep a NASA rocket and a countdown clock. Whoever had been renting that unit was clearly more concerned with launching into space than with paying their rent.
The Coldest Hardest Cash
This goldmine turned storage unit was cracked open in San Jose, California. It contained over half a million dollars’ worth of gold, silver and rare coins. You would think with this much wealth stored just the other side of a door the renter would have been able to pay up and hang onto his bullion!
Albuquerque Self Storage encourages all renters to stay current on their dues and avoid having their precious belonging turned over to the highest bidder.
