Different Types of Storage Containers

When it comes to storage containers, there is an infinite array of kinds you can choose from. For home organization it can be crucial what type of storage container you select, as they all have varying strengths and weaknesses. Here are some of the most common storage containers to keep in mind.

Cardboard

Cardboard boxes are the most universal storage option, and commonly found in garages, storage units, and closets around the country. You can box up nearly any assortment of items imaginable, and they are very easy to transport, making them the top choice for moving purposes. They are also reusable for five to ten years.

Plastic

Tupperware for food and leftovers is the standard plastic container in your home, but did you know that there are even larger plastic crates and sealable containers you can utilize for extra storage wherever you need it? This variety of storage is ideal for items you do not constantly access and want to keep protected from the elements. Holiday decorations or heavy winter clothes are a couple examples. They can also easily be stored away under your bed, or on a shelf in your closet or garage.

Miscellaneous

Maybe the two options above aren’t what you’re looking for. Not to worry! Other specialized storage options include wooden chests, wicker baskets, tool boxes, and more. New types of storage containers are being created and sold everyday, so you are sure to find one that fits your exact needs.
