Efficient Suitecase Packing
Overpacking is the biggest mistake people make when starting to put their suitcase together. Wether you’re storing a suitcase of winter clothing in your garage or personal storage unit, or you are going on a long needed vacation, a well packed suitcase can make any scenario much more pleasant.
Rolling or Folding
When it comes to storing clothing in a suitcase you will fall into one of two camps. Are you a folder, or a roller? Folding takes up more space, but it leads to less wrinkles in your clothing. Rolling on the other hand takes up less space but has the chance of more wrinkles and folds if not done correctly. You can mix this method, and actually should, depending on what type of fabric the clothing you’re packing away consists of. Common softer materials like knits, wools, and cottons are malleable and resistant enough against wrinkles. This will save lots of space for other desired items.
Order
First and foremost, stuff as many socks and undergarments as you can into your shoes and lay them at the bottom of your open suitcase. This is your first layer. Next come the thicker items like jackets, sweaters, and jeans. These can be rolled or folded depending which you prefer. If you have any fragile items, place them in the middle of the tighter packed heavier clothing. Next comes the lighter pieces like t-shirts. Any other folded items should be placed down next.More small and light weight contributions can then be added in remaining spaces. If traveling, It is smart to leave your toiletries at the very top of the bag along with a first change of clothes, even if its just a comfy pair of pajamas. This will help make your suitcase packing strategy more convenient and organized.
