Self-Storage for College Students

Starting a college education can be an exciting yet scary time for new students. Many universities require freshman to live on campus their first year, making it the first time these young adults are living away from home. It can be difficult to move into a small dorm room with a roommate you’ve most likely never met. Aside from figuring out your classes, you have to adjust to living in one small space. You may not know what to bring with you, or you may seriously over pack. With all the preparations, the idea of self-storage may slip the college student’s mind.

More Space

Dorm rooms are compact and can sometimes be divided up to between up to four people! This doesn’t leave much room for anything else but the necessities. So what are you going to do with your art supplies, your saxophone, or anything else that contributes to your favorite hobbies outside of school? Renting out your own storage gives you the space you need to keep the things you love closer to you. The decision of which items to bring with you becomes far easier when you know you have more than enough space to accommodate them.

Convenience

The farther you’ve moved away from home, the more hassle it is to get the things you may have forgotten or didn’t anticipate needing. With storage you can bring it all with one quick drive. College students can rent out storage for temporary amounts of time. This idea can be utilized during winter and summer breaks. You’ll need to clear out your room during vacation anyways so moving all your stuff to a storage unit can be much easier than hauling it back home, especially when you know you’ll be returning to dormitory life anyways.

Peace of Mind

Keeping excess belongings in a separate place keeps your living space cleaner and less cluttered. It also reduces risk of theft, which is not necessarily less frequent on university campuses. A personal storage space is something all on-campus college students should consider.
